Ask a litigator how they prepare a case and the answer is rarely a tidy form. It is a desk: the key document on the left, the statute open beside it, a list of what the other side will say pinned somewhere in view. Everyone arranges that desk differently.

That observation sits behind the Legal Terminal, the centrepiece of ilovelawyer, an AI legal intelligence platform for lawyers. The company's own description is "a litigation cockpit you arrange yourself." Instead of a locked grid, the Terminal offers up to 19 panes of case intelligence that a lawyer drags by the header grip and resizes from any edge or corner.

The Terminal does offer presets of one, two, four or six panes. They are only starting points. Once the layout is right, a lawyer can save it by name for a case as a Terminal Workspace and call it back on another machine. A Panel Library in the sidebar lets a lawyer drag in any pane that is missing, and display options such as High Density Mode, Grid Snapping and hideable pane labels let a lawyer tune how busy the screen feels.

The toolbar also surfaces hidden panes whose data already exists for the case. ilovelawyer says this is a simple check, not an AI recommendation, which is a small but telling piece of honesty in a market full of "AI-powered" claims.

The panes are grouped by what a lawyer is thinking about: facts, law, strategy, risk and team. A Command pane shows where the case stands and what is due next. Law holds the statutes and precedents. Mind Map lays out a strategy tree. Damages & Remedies keeps a running total.

Two choices say the most about the thinking. The Theories pane shows each lawyer's theory of the case side by side and never merges them, so a team's disagreement is preserved rather than averaged away. And Case Reconstruction, which drafts an editable chronology, lists what its own narrative does not cover.

ilovelawyer is careful to say what it is not. It is software sold to lawyers, not a law firm, and it does not give legal advice. The pitch is control: the lawyer decides what the case looks like on screen, and the software supplies material to work with.

ilovelawyer is available as a UK site (uk.ilovelawyer.com) and a Philippine site (ph.ilovelawyer.com), each built around local statutes, precedent and procedure.
